Jumpstarter Air Compressor

Post by sletts02 »

Has anyone tried using a jumpstarter air compressor? They say they can reach 260psi but I have my doubts.

Something like this:

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/gps-car-audio ... sor/98768/

http://www.autobarn.com.au/electus-5-in ... ght-mb3594

It seems like it would solve the compressing and the lack of power source.

Hmm, that would be interesting. Give it a try. One word of caution: I would never recommend that you go past 75% of the rated pressure, just to be safe.

The biggest enemy of the compressor is HEAT. Make sure you allow time for the compressor to cool off, or add some active cooling to it so it does not overheat. If it gets too hot, it will fail.

How about submerging it in water? WO:

You're close! You can coil some copper tube around the metal part of the compressor and flow cool water through the coil. That is an easy way to keep a compressor cool.
