Sportsstuff Inc

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission in cooperation with Sportsstuff Inc. has voluntarily recalled 11,000 inflator air pumps due to laceration hazard. These air pumps can overheat and explode during use, posing a risk of lacerations to the user and nearby consumers. Sportsstuff has received 52 reports of pumps exploding, 13 of which resulted in lacerations. Six of these incidents involved facial lacerations and one consumer reported an eye injury. The air pumps were manufactured in China and sold through marine distributors. Consumers should immediately stop using the pumps.

Different, but Far_cry's (from SF) plastic pump handle shattered, allowing the steel pump rod to pierce his hand. Be careful.
