Re: HELP NEEDED

I live in Canada and I went to Frabicana, a local fabric store.
They had rip stop Nylon (used to make real parachutes) enough for four chutes was about $15 Canadian.
You can just cut a round circle (the right size for your weight) with a middle hole for stability.
I got my wonderful wife to stitch lines on to them at eight spots, then I tied those to a flying line swivel to combat tangles.
Nothing works better than the real thing.
However before the rip stop I was using emergency blankets. Cheap, light, and after folded they tend to pop open.
As for the deployment method, my final favorite is the tommy timer.
Do a you tube search for parachute deployment and you'll get tons of advise.

:W
An umbrella is a good and cost effective parachute. And they are already in a hemisphere shape. Just cut down to a good size.

Don't forget that a ServoChron 2 doesn't cost much more than a Tomy Timer and it is programmable with 1/1000th second accuracy.

By the way, what is a 12 gage water rocket? That sounds dangerous! :-)
