Virtual Dub Timestamp Filter Problem

Hello!

I installed Virtual Dub and downloaded the filter off of air command (Here: http://www.aircommandrockets.com/md80clone.htm ) and I go to install it and I find out that it is the wrong file extension!!! Virtual Dub asks for a .vcf. Is .vdf the old format or something. I need some help! Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Virtual Dub Timestamp Filter Problem

Which version of VirtualDub are you using? I've checked, and it seems to be working fine with the latest version V1.9.11. You just drop the .vdf file in the /plugins directory and then you should be able to see it in the filters menu.

If you cannot obtain satisfactory results using the fuzz filters, you may be interested in attempting the slightly more advanced firmware upgrade procedure which will remove the time stamp permanently.

Re: Virtual Dub Timestamp Filter Problem

Interestingly I went and got VirtualDub again and it worked fine this time! I don't know what I did wrong last time but now it works. Oh by the way, I got the MD80's I ordered Friday and I plan on launching this Saturday! I also plan on launching a 16 litre rocket, which is twice as big as the biggest rocket I have launched before!

16L is big! Big rockets are always fun to launch. What size nozzle are you using? Good luck with the launch on Saturday.

Re: Virtual Dub Timestamp Filter Problem

How come the filter only removes a portion of the time stamp? It is only taking off about half of it off.

What settings do you have for the position and size of the filter window? The filter can be applied to different locations on the video as different cameras can position the timestamp in different locations. If it's the standard MD-80 clone, then the following settings should be used X:338 Y:449 Width:346 Height:28 ... or click the MD-80 Clone button in the Presets section which will set them for you.
