There are some nice close up pictures of their rocket in the Photos section.

Looks to me like they are using 3 liter bottles since the caps are larger than the 1/2" pvc fittings.

The color of the adhesive on the splices makes me think that they might have used the weaker 3x PLP, assuming they used PLP. It looks like they are also using Tornado tubes, so I doubt they are using the 3L bottles. Also, based on how the parachute seemed to be so tight fitting, I doubt it would have deployed. Not to mention that the nose section was at a fairly severe angle.

Well hopefully we'll hear from them. It looks more like liquid nails and some other white sealant. There was an interview that the guy mentioned they used 2.5 liter bottles and 2 liter bottles. 3x is the same strength as 8x once it is fully cured.

Was there any indication of how the parachute worked? Was it just a nosecone that falls off, or was there an active system in there somewhere?

Also, we prefer PLP 3x for splices. The 8x stuff is too thick to flow well, and once cured the two are identical in strength.
