Achievement Get! Rocket in A Tree

Post by Pere Ubu »

Went out yesterday morning to test my new launchers; fitted the Gardena nozzle rocket to the launcher with some water in it (didn't measure; maybe 100 ml or so), pumped it up to 35 PSI, and launched. Beautiful liftoff, the rocket got to apogee maybe 50 feet or so, paused, gracefully arced over... and plopped itself into a tree in the neighbor's yard. Where it still is - I tried throwing sticks at it, but couldn't hit it. So there's my handmade Gardena nozzle, my Quest foam fin assembly, and a 1 liter bottle waiting for the next strong wind for recovery.

I hope you didn't have an expensive altimeter and onboard video camera in there!

Getting my rocket stuck in a tree is my worst fear about this hobby. Open space is rather scarce around where I live.
