PL Premium(?) under another name?

Post by Ridley »

I am in the UK and cannot easily buy PL Premium unless I import however I have found this

https://www.clasohlson.com/uk/Pattex-PL ... ve/31-9049

Which is called PL Premium and is sold under the Pattex brand name which appears to be part of Henkel which is part of/partner with Loctite.

So is this PL Premium? HAs anyone tried it?

If it needs water to cure, then it's likely the same stuff.

I have tried it. Its not the same colour as the American PL premium and doesn't seem to hold as well. It comes out of the tube white, whereas the American stuff seems to be light brown.

I have used it to splice some bottles, but both times it leaked under pressure. I even tried it on some glass fibre reinforced spliced bottles and these leaked at 120 - 140 PSI.

I'll shortly be doing some pressure tests on a variety of UK adhesives, so i'll let you know how well it holds up against some others. I'll post some pictures, so you can verify yourself that i'm not being an eejit and making a hash of the splicing.
