Silly idea time.
Take a 2 liter bottle.
Drill a hole in it.
Take a piece of plastic and place it inside the bottle. Take one side of it to the bottle, creating a hinged flap.
Place a thick balloon into the neck of the bottle.
Secure the neck of the balloon to the neck of the bottle (ignore the "HOW" right now, just jiving on the idea)
Inflate the balloon.
As it inflates, the air exits the bottle thru the hinged flap... Until the balloon presses it closed.
Now, when launched, the balloon would shrink as the air was expelled. The hinged flap would open, letting the balloon decompress fully.
Would this idea generate more or longer thrust?
Water bottle with an extra hole in it
