If you look to the Ares rocket you see that there is a there is a wider zone and a thiner zone.
I have already saw that on others rockets, I know it has to do with having space for cargo in the top of the rocket.
I wonder if a slightly wider nose in relation to the diameter body of the rocket would deviate the drag from the rockets body.

well you cant deviate "drag" since its a force but you might be able to deviate airflow
