Latest Water Rocket

Post by Billkuhl53 »

This is three small pictures of my latest water rocket. On the left picture are the spring that push up the plunger. THe middle picture is on the whole rocket, I used a foam cone and wrapped surveyors tape around it. The picture on the right is of the plunger and timer components. Timer pulls a servo arm that is holding down a small rod that comes out of the dowel that is the shaft of the plunger.

I would like to see a video of this in action at some point. I think it would be easier to see how it works.

Is that snow on the ground in the pictures?

Yes, that is snow, I live in Minnesota USA. The picture on the left is actually looking down into the cottage cheese container before it was turned over and glued on top of the bottle. The springs are tension springs that pull the dowel which has a plunger on the other side. I plan to take video of this. I have three rockets now with timers so I am looking forward to spring to see how well each one works.

I moved the direct link to my water rocket article:

Created a new model airplane article:
