A water rocket is a type of model rocket using water as its reaction mass. The pressure vessel (the engine of the rocket) is constructed from thin plastic or other non metallic materials (usually a used plastic soft drink bottle) weighing 1,500 grams or less. The water is forced out by compressed air. It is an example of Newton's third law of motion.

Another TV show

Post by Tim Chen » Wed Jul 09, 2008 12:23 pm

The Science Channel is having their annual "Space Week" and I saw they're having a 6-part series airing all week called "Moon Machines" which discusses the equipment they used to get to the moon and how it was designed and built and tested. I missed the first 2 installments but the one they had last night was about the LEM. It was great stuff. They interviewed the engineers and had a lot of footage I had never seen of the LEM under construction. This stuff is right up our alley!

Check it out! It's going to be on every night this week at 9:00PM.
