Russians tested a new rocket (Topol SS 27 missile) capable of reaching 17.8000 km/h (mach 18).
It can even dogde at high speed and resiste to magnetic interference and nuclear explosions beyond 1/2 km.
They wanted to show how weak can be tha anti-missile defence in Check Republic bought by the americans to protect from the Iran.
Anyway, the americans have an airbus with a laser on it´s front capable to destroy missiles.
I don´t think it´s Cold War 2 but another technology show to sell weapons.

Re: Topol SS 27 missile - 17.8000 km/h
It could never reach those speeds inside the atmosphere and if it were anything approaching that speed it would be blinded by ionization which would mean it could not use GLONASS for navigation and could not spot incoming threats to evade.RaZias wrote:Russians tested a new rocket (Topol SS 27 missile) capable of reaching 17.8000 km/h (mach 18).

This DOES resemble the cold war... tons of puffed-up capabilities coming out of the communist side.
