How can you determine what size parachute your rocket needs? I am thinking that I might be using a parachute that might be too big. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Parachute Size
http://my.execpc.com/~culp/rockets/descent.html this gives you a nice equation and explanation for the drag force on a parachute of a descending rocket.

Use google and search for rocket and water rocket simulators. You can plug in your rocket weight and size and it will tell you the descent rate for a given parachute size.
