Kite Camera?

Post by Mark Chen »

Hey! Any of you guys see this? It's a camera for hooking onto a kite and taking movies and pictures. It looks like it would be nice for a water rocket too. Check out the specs:

This is been on the market for a little while. It is made for radio control planes. I would stay away for a while because it has many bugs and some people have complained in the forums about it. It is overpriced too. I am waiting for the price to go down or to find one on ebay cheap.

The image sensor in these cameras is notorious for poor low light performance, so be aware that if you buy one you'll only be able to use it in a bright sunny day. If it's early morning or late in the evening or cloudy out and you might get poor results. There are supposedly a lot of problems with audio not getting synchronized to the video with these things too. You'd probably be better off spending the same money on a brand name camera like a Sony.
