Hi,

We've got an altimiter from Perfect flite. Type alt 15 K
But we want to load our information/flight parabols into exell for eazyer use.
But we cant firgure it out how it has to be done. Or is it possible to do?

Now we only can see our parabols in the alt 15 k datacap program.

Has anyone some instructions?

Hello D&P rockets,

If you want to use Perfectflite Data with excel spreadsheets you need to create a template spreadsheet with the sample interval in one column. They have a couple of models of altimeter, some with a 0.05 second sample rate and others have a 0.10 second sample rate. You create a coulm in your spreadsheet with incrementing intervals in each row. (0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15 ... etc.) or (0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 ... etc.) make sure you create enough rows for the total time of your flight plus some extra time.

Now you open your perfectflite data file and cut the entire flight data portion to the clipboard and paste it into another column in excel.

From there you can do an X-Y chart and plot the results as you like.

Good luck!

The answer is quite simple, Daan. All you need to do is open the flight data file in an editor like notepad or wordpad. Clisk on the file in your computer with the button on the right-hand side of your mouse and a menu will pop up asking you what you want to do. Pick "Open with..." and a list of possible programs to open the file will appear. Pick "notepad" or "wordpad" and you can get the contents of the file in whichevr of those two programs you like.

From there on out it's just as we explained before with excel.

Good luck!

Can't you just rename the files to ".txt" files and they will open automatic in text pad? That would work too!
