Erm. Woudn't it make more sense to ask George? No offense, but he probably knows how it works.Jelo wrote:so much usefull information on air command's website, here is a complex staging mechanism they made:

Re: the UNLTIMATE staging mechanisms topic
i made up a simple system that uses G forces at launch to make the bottles seperate, very easy but only suitable for rockets creating a lot of g-force at launch, heres a picture:
its basicaly just a 22mm launcher instaled on the rocket, with the force of acceleration the large pvc ring holding the tie cables together falls down, by the time this happens, the booster has already blasted very high in the sky, and it better to have some momentum when the second stage launches for the rocket to launch horisontaly. for more info on the launcher look at this post: http://www.wra2.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=808

Also needs something to act as a weak spring to stop the large ring from dropping prematurely during pressurisation.Jelo wrote:i made up a simple system that uses G forces at launch to make the bottles seperate, very easy but only suitable for rockets creating a lot of g-force at launch, heres a picture:

yep but if the spring is too tight it might not go down

Re: the UNLTIMATE staging mechanisms topic
i think all you should put is something to block the ring up while pressurising and take it off just before launch
