Skipping Rockets on Water

Post by Brian »

Me and a friend were launching rockets, and after trying to catch a few we looked at a nearby puddle and we both had the same idea at once. So we got an unmodified bottle, aimed it at the puddle and bounced it off the water.
Most of this is on this video.

That would be a good way to get better distance from a water rocket powered boat.

Has anyone else ever tried making a water rocket boat?

I like how the sequence of frames of the launch caught the effect of the air blast on the water column.

The highspeed photography really helps with finding out what happens during a launch, including it's velocity.
