A water rocket is a type of model rocket using water as its reaction mass. The pressure vessel (the engine of the rocket) is constructed from thin plastic or other non metallic materials (usually a used plastic soft drink bottle) weighing 1,500 grams or less. The water is forced out by compressed air. It is an example of Newton's third law of motion.

Christmas Themed Launch

Post by kitestring » Mon Dec 14, 2015 2:04 am

The Queensland Rocketry Society recently had a Christmas themed launch day...so this is what I tried. The backslider failed as the nose got soaked in a prelaunch mishap and went out of balance. (that means i forgot to put on the top cap and all the water ended up in the cone RO: )
Santa landed safely twice but missed the somewhat tacky cardboard box chimney we made by miles... Hope you don't mind me sharing. cheers Jeremy
