A water rocket is a type of model rocket using water as its reaction mass. The pressure vessel (the engine of the rocket) is constructed from thin plastic or other non metallic materials (usually a used plastic soft drink bottle) weighing 1,500 grams or less. The water is forced out by compressed air. It is an example of Newton's third law of motion.

Post by U.S. Water Rockets1 » Sat Jun 02, 2007 9:24 pm

The first water and air powered rocket to reach 2000 feet (610m).
Darkness prevented a second flight. The moon can be seen in the video when the rocket turns over at apogee.

Is that the first water rocket to ever take pictures of the moon?

Embedded Google videos

Post by U.S. Water Rockets1 » Mon Jun 04, 2007 5:42 pm

Thanks. We put a few of these videos up to help Lisa test the "embedded google video" feature of the forum.

Anyone can embed the google video by using bbcode for GVideo and the URL for the video.

This in one thing that makes this forum so cool.
