its said to be water resistant, but a bit of tape wrapped around the receiver makes it waterproof 
as for the motor, i wsa just chancing it :/ i know most low voltage brushed elecric motors work fine underwater, if not better coz of the better cooling, but wanted to give it a try with a brushless motor, and aparently it worked
