Rocket to 338'

Post by Water Rocket Expert »

Here is my new rocket launching. It went 338 feet and the servo chron deployed but it didn't open until about 30 feet from the ground. Here's the video. The bottom splice started to leak because I had over stressed it before so we launched at 70 psi. The objective pressure was 110'. No onboard video until I by a new camera because the last one the battery died and was damaged when I tried to replace it. Tell me what you think!

Sorry I forgot to post this the video and it wouldn't let me edit. Also the objective pressure was 110 psi not feet.

The bottom spice was the one that was failing. I glued a new splice today and hope to have the rocket flying again sometime next week.

Edit: I don't put fairing on this rocket because the last time I tried that the glue failed on the PVC fittings.

Congrats on your successful flight! Do toy have some photos of the rocket you can post? It would be great to show new folks here how quickly someone can go from a newbie to an expert.

I will post pictures but what do you mean by newbie. I have been building rockets for 4 years. I found this forum last year. I am using a $50 on board camera now by Midland. I'll post images on ground later.

That rocket looks pretty slick without the "peanut butter" stripes that most people have!
