The long vapor trail left behind the rocket seems very unusual. I have never seen that before. That kind of vapor comes from very cold temperatures. A big temperature change is probably the result of a phase change from liquid to gas.

There were altimeter log files uploaded but I don't know what software to use to view them. In one of the posts earlier they did put images of the graphs up.

Here's a link to their report, including graphs of altimeter logs, from another thread:

They really put a lot of effort and detail into the report. We hope our record submissions are as detailed.

Oh I saw the report- truly a great job. I have no objections, just wondering if the alt files had to be submitted or were graphs enough?

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all the encouraging complements!

@Team Seneca, yes you are right the temperatures were very low. I may be mistaken but I seem to remember calculations showing temps as low as -160degC in the pressure vessel during expansion. So It is most probably ice particles exciting the nozzle.

We did upload the raw altimeter files but they are a bit hard to spot on the threads (Thanks Julian for sharing the threads).

So to make it easier I attached the raw altimeter data here as well. To view it you will need to download AltOS from the TeleMetrum website at http://altusmetrum.org/AltOS/. Open the files with AltOS and you will be able to see a whole range of interesting graphs and tables as well as being able to replay the flights.

Enjoy!
