Now we finaly have our flycamone2 camera. And last sunday we did a flight with it.
There where some - points. Like the hole in the parachute compartiment for the lens of the FCO2 was a bit small. So u see in the corners of the onboard film some white quarter cirkels. And the rocket did get into some low hanging clouds so the quality of the footage was not verry high. It was a bit foggy up there
And the sun was standing low and did shine directly into the camera. So the camera had to switch constantly from verry bright light to a bit darker. But its still a pretty nice movie!
And we will fix the parachutes so the recovery is a bit smoother

We are using shock cords to absorb the pressure on the main chute strings. Some elastick bands tied up to the chute. So if there comes a big pressure on the string it will strech out a lot! and increase the pressure on the parachute strings. This works verry nice!
But the cords where not the identical lenght.. Thats why it was a bit wobbely
We are going to fix it and launch next weekend if the weather is nice..
Just an update:
Yesterday we did get some carbon sleeves! next week pleun is going to epoxie it on a rocket. So in maybe 2 or 3 weeks we are going to launch high pressure rockets reïnforeced with carbonfibre!

How big is your sleeve? The sleeve we got last Christmas has proven only large enough for very thin rockets. We don't get much volume with our size sleeve. Only drinking water bottles come in this narrow size and they have decorative shapes molded in the top and bottom so we can only use about 4" of the middle of the bottle for our body tube. There's going to be many, many splices to build a long tube.
We bought us a 4.0" Std AeroSpace hvy 15.1 Extends from 1.6" to max 4.4".
Ideal for bottles with an diameter of 85 mm.

I hope we can start with epoxying the carbon to the rocket next weekend. It depends on when Pleun got the epoxy glue and hardener.
