I am pretty sure the AntiGravity guys had one that went that high and it was a regular Sears brand garage compressor. I remember they broke it trying to hit 500PSI or something like that in their video.Drag_Racer408a wrote:Well if i could build one to go that high i would spaceman. haha.

That sounds awful risky. I bet the compressor part wouldn't explode if it were overloaded, but the tank surely would. I hope they bypassed that tank!Drag_Racer408a wrote:I have seen that video before. I think it was a regular like 5 gallon garage compressor like you said but with the tank and pressure switch removed so it could just keep running until it broke.

Re: 400 psi eletrical compressor
Hi,
The compressors in fridges will go to 30 bar (900 psi) or so. The biggest problem is finding a junked fridge where the compressor still works. A year or two ago, people would have their whole kitchen replaced if they didn't like the color, but now....
Regards
Soren

Re: 400 psi eletrical compressor
I never knew they went that high. I thought it would be only around 300PSI. I read that somewhere on another wrocket website. I threw out a working refrigerator not long ago too. It had been in my basement and got all rusty and nobody wanted it. I'll be kicking myself now!dongfang wrote:Hi,

mmmmm 30 bar is about half of 900psi, as far as my maths go , 900psi is about 62.052703 bar
1bar is 14.5038 psi
hope that clears things up,
but if a fridge compressor does go to 30 bar thats still 435.114 psi which is enough to blow your socks off

Hi, yeah oops 30 bar is only about 30 * 15 = 450 psi. My bad.

That's still a lot more pressure than my best design can hold at this point. It might be worth investigating.andicirk wrote:dongfang wrote:Hi,
