Welcome to the Water Rocket Forum, sponsored by The Water Rocket Achievement World Record Association.
The largest, most sophisticated and ground breaking group supporting you, the serious water rocket flyer! Whether you are a beginner or an expert, the WRA2 has something for everyone.
A water rocket is a type of model rocket using water as its reaction mass. The pressure vessel (the engine of the rocket) is constructed from thin plastic or other non metallic materials (usually a used plastic soft drink bottle) weighing 1,500 grams or less. The water is forced out by compressed air. It is an example of Newton's third law of motion.
Discussion about Compressors, hose, pipes, fittings, launchers, release mechanisms, and launch tubes.

basically i think he is saying this because in europe it is a lot easier to make a gardena launcher than a 22mm launcher without access to special tools (lathe etc)
but the times they are a changing .....
see "how to thread"
sorry for the shameless plug

This is little democratic, few people voting compared to the ones that see the post.
I think its more easier to find water(rocket) in Mars than to see someone vote here.

I'm from Europe (Poland) and I use 22 mm. There are a lot of builder shops and it's easy to make 22 mm launcher.

i used to use 22mm nozzles but i just dont like them theres like no burn time at all... all the water goes out in one go and its just not a realy rocket if you see what i mean...more like a canon ball going under its momnetum
