phpbb atom feed

Post by rockets-in-brighton »

I see that the forum now has Atom feed links, at http://www.wra2.org/forum/feed.php and http://www.wra2.org/forum/feed.php?mode=news. I didn't notice when they were introduced, I know the last time I looked I couldn't see a way to get updates via RSS or Atom, so great news that they are here now.

However, the main feed doesn't seem to be complete as it shows only a half dozen random posts from the last month or so but not a complete list of all new posts and replies from that period. The announcements feed is better in that it gives all the top-level posts from the announcement forum right back to May 2008. Even this feed doesn't include replies though.

Any chance of looking into this, when you have some time?
Cheers

I've seen a lot of websites who make a big deal about RSS feeds but I don't know what is it good for? Should I be excited about this? Can you explain what it is and why I need it? Thank you.

If you want to keep tabs on a lot of websites and forums, subscribe to their feeds via your browser or email client. When new content is added, or new posts, the feed is updated and your feed reader shows that new content is available from that site.

You now have one list to check for new content on the sites you are interested in. Your reader may even pop up a message telling you when it knows about a change. Click on the link in your reader to go straight there.

Your browser will probably help you set up a feed link by clicking on the orange radar-like symbol in your address bar and following the instructions.

The feeds that we set up are for testing purposes. That is why we had not announced them yet. We plan on offering them in the future.
