Hello from a scout leader in NY

Post by mfnolan »

Hello all... I'm a Cub Scout leader in Westchester County, NY. Four years ago, I was asked to investigate creating a water rocket derby for the pack... and I fell in neck deep. I've now own several styles of launchers, rockets, compressors, ... and more pvc, brass, and copper parts in my basement than the local plumber. here's a link to some pictures of our rocket derby...

(FYI... the fire/rescue truck provides all the compressed air we need for hundreds of launches. We also inflate 6 foot weather balloons out in the field as targets.)

Thanks to all of you for sharing your ideas. To give back, if anyone wants tips about how to run a water rocket derby for large groups of kids (of any age), please let me know.

Hi Mike. I'm a Scout leader, too. I'm from Canakkale, Turkiye.
