Better Mousetrap

Off topic again, but I am using mousetrap cars as a planned backup activity for the water rockets demo I will be doing at the local high school. This is my latest article on mousetrap cars:

PS

I am also working on an improved stomp rocket design.

Maybe you can do a comparison between stomp rockets and regular water rockets. A lot of people seem to think they can go higher with a stomp rocket.

Re: Better Mousetrap

sounds fun.
the only thing i can think of for making better mouse trap cars is to experiment with more weight for better traction and coasting.

Re: Better Mousetrap

THe weather held for the demo and I showed both water rockets and mousetrap cars. I launched one rocket without water and then with water to show the difference.

I am looking for a cheap bladder for the stomp rocket, I tried the 2-liter bottle like most people use which crushes. Then someone suggester a boat fender, which works great but cost $6 on sale. I also tried what I thought was a tough plastic bag with foam rubber in it, but the side blew out after jumping on it a couple of times.
