Hello from South Africa

Post by Andrew Leigh »

Hi,

my name is Andrew and I my interest arises from my grandson's requirement for a "Newtons 3rd law" project. At the same time as assisting him with his project I will be starting mine, I am really keen and excited.

Hi Brian,

firstly my grandsons project will be two 1 l bottles, interconnected with a Robinson Connector. He is 12 years old and this should be fun. We will probably make the following launch system as it looks simple and requires little engineering, he can almost "bolt" everything together.

I may well start with the same two bottle project (may scale up to 2l bottle). I need to understand the basics and how the rocket performs before I can think of playing around with parachutes etc.

I will however build a different launcher that will hopefully see me someway into this pastime.

Cheers
Andrew
