Hi, my name is Dick Stafford. I'm a long time model/mid/high power flier ('pyro' to you guys I guess). I've been lurking around the water rocket world for years and have been a great fan of AirCommand. Well, I finally bought a couple of launchers (Quest and StratoFins) and have built a few rockets. I have now spliced a couple of bottles and have had one successful rocket with parachute deployment. I need to fins a source of timers as my first one is lost. I hope to be the first person to launch a water rocket at a http://www.mdrocketry.org/index.html launch. As if they don't laugh at my rockets as it is.

What type of timers are you wanting to use?
For clockworks, you can go to the toy store and gut some wind up toys or you could try texastimers.com. I haven't ordered from them. yet.
Just. Tell the pyro guys it's a gas/liquid propellant oddroc.
bugwubber, on my first try I used a timer from a little robot-bug-thing liberated from my grandkid. Worked great. I only have found two local sources. One won't work and the other, from ToysRUs, seemed too expensive. They aren't that bad but I was hoping for something cheaper...and not as cute. As for the propellant ID, you have a good idea! On my flight card I'll list it as a biprop, oxygen and dihydrogen monoxide. LOL

HA!
Regarding texastimers, On the left sidebar down at the bottom is a link for plastic clocks. They want $20 for six. Not exactly cheap but the only thing else to get is rubber band and zipties. I got mine from a gas station toy turtle.. Had to wait until my kid broke it to extract the clockworks.
