Does a non return valve let you still measure the pressure?

Post by Tijn Revet »

I am designing a 3d printed launch pad and i have a non return valve in it. My question is can i still measure the pressure with the bicycle pump, Because the pressure in the room between the non return valve and the pump would be a normal 1 bar right?

Doesn't the bicycle pump already include such a valve?

In any case, it seems to me that the non-return valve would prevent accurate pressure reading on the pump side of the valve unless the valve is open due to pumping.

If you're trying for a competition, bicycle pump pressure gauges are notoriously inaccurate. You can buy an accurate pressure gauge and put it upstream of your non-return valve.
