There are shops here you can buy maps, they came insinde a plastic tube, maybe you can buy thoses maps in internet...see if they are inside the tube.

That tube is an FTC.

is it not a color tube for tl lamps?

i saw it in a magazine from skytronic.
you can sleve it over the lamp.

Yes, FTC stands for Fluorescent Tube Cover, so that is the commonest source.

I think Razias is just suggesting that there are other sources of polycarbonate tubes, like map or poster sleeves.

You can buy clear polycarbonate tubing directly online, certainly in the UK. I found a site that sells 25mm OD (22mm ID, wall thickness = 3mm) in 2m lengths for £13.27 (EUR 15.50 current exchange rate).

The problem is the packing and carriage etc is more than double the cost of the raw material, and that's why FTC bought from a local store is the preferred option.

You need to do some research to find out what other store-bought things are made from suitable polycarbonate tubing. A local shop here supplies materials for making custom shop display fittings, and in amongst all the plastic sheets and blocks they had plastic tubing of different sizes and lengths. Maybe they even have offcuts lying around.
