[D&P]Rockets* record time
There is no question that this submission will qualify for a new class C record. The only question is which time should be counted. Obviously the flycam has a design flaw which causes it to lose time. The rules do state that the onboard camera is used to calculate record time. We will let the membership decide with a poll.
Congratulations [D&P]Rockets*

I say that whatever we vote to do here will become the "law" and that anyone who ever has the same problem will have to have the same standard applied to their rocket.

Consider it an official ballot for an amendment to the rules.Spaceman Spiff wrote:I say that whatever we vote to do here will become the "law" and that anyone who ever has the same problem will have to have the same standard applied to their rocket.

We had a tie vote here so the deadline will be extended 3 more days.

Re: [D&P]Rockets* record time
The onboard video is really the only definitive proof because it's the only video that is guaranteed to be recording the position of the rocket through 100% of the flight. A really high or fast moving flight or a flight that goes behind trees or terrain might get out of view of the ground camera, so the real proof is in the onboard video. I hope D&P doesn't mind the loss of a handful of seconds. It's a shame that the manufacturer has been unable to come up with a firmware fix for the dropped frames.

Re: [D&P]Rockets* record time
I updated my FCO2 a week ago or something. But haven't tried it in the rocket yet. I hope the frame drops are the past ;)!
The 10 seconds isnt the biggest problem in the world. But we know that the rocket flew 1.57 seconds avarage. And we can fly a lot longer but that is a back up!
Btw the rocket is called: Project 1.5

Is it possible to place team in front of our name like: Team.[D&P]Rockets* because thats our nickname. Or aint that possible because of the space?

Re: [D&P]Rockets* record time
I don't know about back in 2009, but these days, the micro USB cameras I've seen have a setting for resolution. A lower resolution will prevent dropped frames. My camera defaults to 1080p HD resolution, but it can be set to record at 720p, which is plenty for my purposes and reduces the chance of dropped frames.Daan.[D&P]Rockets* wrote:I updated my FCO2 a week ago or something.
