I just got the HobbyKing Altimeter (the only one they have I believe) and I don't know how to connect it to the pc. Or at least make the drivers work. It plugs in via the USB but I cannot find the correct drivers. And the instructions are poor.
I believe Bugwubber may have this same altimeter and may be able to help as he may have been through this process himself, once before.
Thanks for any help!

Yep the instructions are pretty poor. Have you downloaded the software?
There's a link in the Files tab on the hobbyking page for the altimeter.
You are looking for version 12.02.20.08en or later.
There's also a chat/forum function on the HK page as well that serves as their tech support. If you have an android phone or chromebook, there's an app you can download instead of using a pc. You'd need to get their bluetooth transmitter if you are using a device without a usb port though. I have that and it works well but unfortunately you have to physically flip a switch on the transmitter from record to transmit mode.

Wow were you flying using FPV?
Unfortunately no. I wish.
Since that image, I have not flow to 2575' where the plane is almost out of sight. The range is further than the plane is visible, so hopefully I won't loose control. I saw another guy fly to 3200' on youtube, so now I am challenged.
Sorry I haven't been responding faster, I'm always busy lately. I still make water rockets, mostly just for backyard fun, my my photography hasn't slowed with the slowing of rocket production, obviously!

Hey guys, for the past 2 years I've been trying myself to fly a plane higher than US water rockets rocket. And finally I have succeeded. Unless there is a new record idk about, I pushed my plane to the limt. 2575'!
I'll post an arial pic when I find the videos on my other harddrive.

A standard 2.4Ghz hobby grade radio transmitter can go for 1 - 2 miles. If we are talking 5.8Ghz, the current record is about 15 miles. Might I recommend a FPV setup before attempting those ranges?
