Class D rules question

Post by mac_xpert »

Pressure vessel and fuselage of rocket must be constructed from a single unmodified soft drink bottle which cannot exceed 2 liters (labeled capacity) volume. (commercially produced stretched or modified bottles such as the U14 stretched water rocket bottle by Anti Gravity Research are not allowed)..
Are you able to add volume to the bottle if you leave it intact and unmodified and only use one bottle and do not exceed the 2l limit?

No you may not alter or modify the bottle in any way. You can choose any shape bottle you wish or even use a bottle that is smaller than 2 liters. There are a lot of possibilities.

Good Luck.

3.Reaction Mass must be primarily ordinary tap water.
By inclusion of the word 'primarily' am I allowed to try different additives to the tap water?

You can try different additives in the water but please be kind to the environment. An example would be to add salt to the water to prevent freezing or adding sugar to increase viscosity. Flammable additives are prohibited.

Huh, I didn't know contestants could add stuff to the water. Salt would make the water more dense, for example.

The rule does allow some leeway for small amounts of additives.
